The North American Mission Board, NAMB, exists to work with churches, associations and state conventions in mobilizing Southern Baptists as a missional force to impact North America with the Gospel of Jesus Christ through evangelism and church planting. They came to us to create a site for a project that they had in the works called Send Relief, which would help connect volunteers in the church to different events, resources, and training to help those who are truly in need. I was assigned to do the UI and visual design of the beginning stages of the project, while our Principle Designer, Brian, worked on the UX and designed the user flow for the screens. Because this was just the beginning stages, we didn't get many days to create a product. Instead we were given 2 days to come up a design to show NAMB a general idea of what the site could look like. I relied heavily on the principle designer's ability to create user flow and wireframes and he relied on my ability to create hi-fidelity mockups quickly. After our designs were given great reviews from the client and our company, Brian went on to do a magnificent expansion of the work, which you can see here.
Users would be able to come to the home page and see a list of cards displaying different categories they could register for in order to help. The most in need would typically be disasters that have just recently happened, for example: Hurricane Harvey and Irma, which had recently hit before we started this project.
An event coordinator would be able to create an event page
Registering for an event requires user to fill out a form whether they are joining a team or as an individual. We decided to put the forms into steps, allowing users to see what part of the form they are at the top of the page
